Where to get wholesale glue?

Hello beautiful peoples....

I am selling handmade bindis (not by me). I want to know your experiences with bindis? To spirit gum or not to spirit gum...to eyelash glue or not to eyelash glue....

I want to stock adhesives, but am trying to do a little research before I go buying a bulk lot. And you all seemed like the right ones to ask (I did ask my Foul, Drunk and Hostile Bellydance tribe too- but a little differently!)

And anyone have any ideas of reputable dealers of adhesives? I'm new to this whole glue thing!

Anyone had any bad reactions to any adhesives? Which ones? Got a favourite? Which one and why?

If this post is in the wrong place or whatever - please feel free to move it Moderator :-)

BTW - I have learned SSSOOO ridiculously much from this tribe. I'd have to say its one of my favourites for makeup tips (You'd think I'd be better at makeup than I am by now- but no...33 and still crap at it...I was never a girly girl!) And hair...you all inspired me to make my yarn falls!

www.bennyemakeup.com/ This is a well-known supplier of theater products. I hope this helps! Good luck in your endeavor!

Yes, have had reactions to adhesives.... bandages, and the glue they use in surgery. The stuff from surgery made me get huge blisters and it was very painful. I haven't tried any adhesives since my surgery. I will before too long, as I just got some bindis.

If you want me to find the name of the adhesive that made the blisters, I can find that for you. I think that very few people react to it, though. I am just allergic to a lot.

www.mehron.com/ Here is another theatrical makeup supplier.

I also react to most adhesives. :-p You also might want to be careful because some adhesives contain not only petroleum derived products but natural latex rubber, which people also can be allergic to.

      Very interesting!

Most of the problem I have with purchasing from those kinds of places is that they charge $90 postage on 10 ounces of adhesives! (Because they're 'dangerous' apparently)

Im going to have to come at this from a different angle because its just WAY too expensive to be able to stock them.

I think I might hold off and do some more research before I decide to get into adhesives. I have an eyelash adhesive that I use here, but its fairly expensive ($8AUD a tube). It works well, but although it says it dries clear, I've found it often doesn't, and it will dry white (not a good look on a bindi with a clear backing!

You've given me some things to think about- I'm going to go back to the drawing board with this one....see what other alternatives I have.
