I second the fixative recommendation, but I can't for the life of me remember what its called right this minute.

By the way, my FAVORITE source for fragrance/essential oils is www.chemistrystore.com I've purchased over $350 in soap making supplies and fragrance oils from them, the bulk of it fragrance oils and I have been very please with their products and services.

You need to make sure that your oils are pure oils. Your perfume will need a fixative. There is a lot of information out there. Google natural perfume making. There are a lot of good books, too. Look on Amazon for aromatherapy books that include sections on perfume.
Good luck!

You may be using your perfume too soon. .. it needs to mellow for about three weeks to gain strength.

Try a mixture of 1/4 cup vodka & 5-10 drops of essential oil. Put in a ***coloured*** glass bottle with stopper.. shake well (light can degrade essential oils.. that's why when you buy the oils they are in blue or brown glass bottles. Shake bottle gently once a day. After the 3 weeks.. strain the mixture through a clean coffee filter into a clean coloured glass jar. if the perfume's too strong.. it can be diluted with up to 2 tablespoons of ****DISTILLED*** water.. other water has too much gunk in it.

You might also think of using fragrance oils instead of EO.. they're generally less expensive, and people are less likely to have a reaction to them.

If you're making these to sell, eventually, you'll need to be using perfumer's alcohol. (put it in your search engine.. many sources).. the gov kinda frowns on the vodka thing.

Hi everyone! I am trying to make my own perfume/body spray. I just used my EO with a little bit of jojoba oil and water in a spray bottle. Problem is that it just doesn't last nearly as long as a commercial perfume. Wondering how I can get it to last longer. What should I use instead? If anyone knows I would really appreciate it or if you could point me in the right direction. Thanks! Adira
