I'm a much older dancer, but just OK tummy skin for my age. I'm getting back into Tribal, where I cannot cover the tummy with coins, etc so much anymore. I'm thinking about body makeup, like models use? Anyone have any sources or ideas about this.

Thu, September 10, 2009 - 10:03 AMWhat are you wanting to achieve? Covering scars or cellulite? Evening out skin tone? Hiding wrinkles? Different issues will result in different ideas/methods...
ps...who says you can't wear Tummy Coin Drapes in Tribal??? ;) -

Thu, September 10, 2009 - 1:30 PMUnsmoothness is going to be a difficult thing to combat with makeup. For that, models mostly use airbrushing. :)
Like was said below, a body stocking is going to be your best bet. See, the thing about "unsmoothness" is that it's the shadows from the "change in terrain", so to speak, that make it noticeable. And unless you are filling in the peaks & valleys with something akin to spackle, you're not going to get rid of the shadows. That's why a body stocking works - it smooths out the terrain to be all the same. -

Re: Body makeup for the tummy?
Tue, September 15, 2009 - 2:44 AMThanks everyone, for your input and ideas. Yeah -- many years of changing 'terrain' for sure! I recently found this toning workout by Denise Austin in a thrift store and it's great. Even inspired my husband to do it with me -- and I notice a trimming and some mid zone firming too! I do have a body stocking from Sugar Petals too. Namaste to all.

Mon, September 28, 2009 - 11:01 AMReolying to my own post --- just a follow up. I went to a local costuming shop, and found some loose powder, designed for stage makeup uses. It seems to blend and soften the skin tone, but I haven't sweat tested it yet. Other than that, sit ups for serious abdominal muscles seem to help!
