What liquid eyeliner do you think is the best when you are performing outdoors on a hot summer day? My first guess would be MAC Liquidlast, but I don't like the brush applicator. I like a felt tip applicator better. So I thought I would throw this out to all of you. Is there anything that you swear by?

Re: Need an opinion: sweat proof liquid eyeliner.
Fri, August 21, 2009 - 7:46 PMNone. I'd recommend a creme eyeliner, like L'Oreal HIP or MAC Fluidline. Creme has more staying power through the sweat than liquid ever will. -

Re: Need an opinion: sweat proof liquid eyeliner.
Fri, August 21, 2009 - 7:51 PMI'll give you that but I hate the way cream applies... I've tried them. Maybe it's just a learning curve or I'm using the wrong brush. Maybe I need a better cream liner. The ones I have are the gel ones. I'm addicted to my felt tip applicator. Maybe i should try to find one of those for my creme liners... hmmmm... It's got me thinking! Thanks for the input! -

Re: Need an opinion: sweat proof liquid eyeliner.
Sat, August 22, 2009 - 6:16 AMI understand, but you're right, practice & time does make a difference. How long did it take you to get this comfortable with the liquid liner? Were as stealthy as you are now when you first bought/tried it? :)
I find that for creme liners, the brush does make the difference. I can't stand the ones that come with the HIP liners, for instance. I went to the art store & bought a small, angled brush like this: www.reuels.com/reuels/med...s80349L.jpg ...and I mean *tiny*. I find that I can get the control from that like you can with the liquid felt-tip liner. But since you're comfortable with the felt liner, you might try a brush that mimics that, like this one: www.goodcharacters.com/images...2-1.jpg
Also, the more you pay for it, the better the quality. I like the HIP ones in general, but the fluidity of the MAC one is on a whole other level -- and also may make it easier to apply. Ben Nye also has creme liners (their "Creme Foundations" & "Creme Colors" on page 8 & 9: www.bennye.com/image/2007...Catalog.pdf ) & their quality is outstanding as well. -

Re: Need an opinion: sweat proof liquid eyeliner.
Sat, August 22, 2009 - 7:28 AMI often look through the Ben Nye catalog and want one of everything. LOL and yet I have never tried anything of theirs. Maybe I will go to the MAC counter today and talk to my favorite MAC girl. I'm sure she has been missing me and my wallet! LOL -

Re: Need an opinion: sweat proof liquid eyeliner.
Sat, August 22, 2009 - 8:48 AMI use Maybelline ultra-liner, which works just as well as anything. Better to buy Make-Up Forever Eye Seal and blot it on with a q-tip. All water-proof liners I've used, if I bump them, they peel off. Or sometimes they crack and fall off. The Eye Seal is a bit strange once it dries, but I find it works well. As a test before I bought it, I drew 2 small harquus on my lower arm. One with waterproof liner, one with normal eyeliner and Eye Seal. I then proceeded to my labor-intensive job and did dishes in chlorine water for another 4 hours. I still had the Eye Seal harquus at the end of my shift. -

Sun, August 23, 2009 - 9:35 AMI thought MUFE would have something as well. I will try it out. Just bought some LiquidLast from MAC. And after talking to my MA Who also agreed that creme liners are the best in terms of staying, I realized that I like liquid liners better because of the bold line that you get. Can't get those with creme liners it seems. -

Sun, August 23, 2009 - 9:41 AMI like Octavia's idea of using the Eye Seal on top of the liquid, tho... Might have to see how that pans-out, as an alternative for all those die-hard lquid fans out there. :) -

Re: Need an opinion: sweat proof liquid eyeliner.
Sun, August 23, 2009 - 9:47 AMI'm a *huge* fan of MAC's Liquidlast. It goes on like a thick liquid, so you can get a nice crisp line, and then it stays on until you take it off - literally. No need to seal it, it's waterproof, sweatproof, etc. Lots of fun colors, too. If you go to the MAC counter, check it out. -

Re: Need an opinion: sweat proof liquid eyeliner.
Sun, August 23, 2009 - 2:36 PMJust bought three colors yesterday. :) I like the formula of the actual product but I hate the applicator. It seemed to be the mutual consensus of all the MA's at the counter. So I'm trying different brushes, applicators, etc. with it. -

Re: Need an opinion: sweat proof liquid eyeliner.
Wed, September 9, 2009 - 10:10 PMI absolutely ADORE Body Shop's liquid liner. I took a chance on it, and it hasn't let me down, not ever! It's a bit pricey, about 20.00, but it lasts forever. It's ultra black, goes on smooth, doesn't dry to quickly, never flakes and won't come off until you take the remover to it!
Trust me, it's the best eyeliner ever. ;) -

Re: Need an opinion: sweat proof liquid eyeliner.
Thu, September 10, 2009 - 6:29 AMCreams- and practice- I wasn't sold on it to start either but practice and a good brush like Bellatrix said.
I'm also finding I have good luck w/ combinations of pencils and shadows with any sort of cream/liquid liner. I use tons of product to really mash it into the eyelash line (Yeah I am the person that blows a ton of charcoal eyeshadow and black pencil liners then washes my face to make ABSOLUTELY sure its the racooon liner effect- then reapply all make up after fash washing lol)
I play w/ it a lot and wear it to the gym- I try to overlap as many products to see what works and what doesn't... so don't be afraid to mix and match... (mascara- I always do a pumping fat brush + one of those weird new brushes gets length defintion AND the full fat coverage)
