Crazy Cool Eyelashes

topic posted Mon, April 28, 2008 - 1:47 PM by  offlineHypatia
The new picture for this tribe has inspired me to seek out some awesome and amazing fake eyelashes.

I have a two questions:
1) where do you find the best and amazing eyelashes; normal and absolutely fabulous
2) any advice on getting them on (eg good adhesive, tools you use, trick). I used to do stage makeup but this is the ONE thing that has completely eluded me for years!!!

    These guys have crazy lashes.

    And feather ones!

I've never gotten them, but I know people who have, and love them for the look and quality.

At the least, it's awesome to browse!

I second Shu Uemura. I went to the store in boston last week and wanted to buy everything. Not only the feather ones are fantastic, but some of the more "normal" looking ones are as well.

Practice practice practice. Leave plenty of time and if you aren't sure it's right start over. If it feels wrong at the start it usually only gets worse.

Well, shoot, I might be able to help a bit! ;-)

I've actually gotten some really cool lashes at Sally's Beauty Supply - there's one by me and a few throughout the Twin Cities but I don't know if there is one in or nearby Savage. There's also a good variety on eBay.

As for application, yes, allow lots of time and then give yourself time to practice as well. I would recommend making sure your eyelids are very clean - no make-up and no oil/sweat. So I put on my lashes before anything else, after I make sure my lids are clean. I use just normal eyelash adhesive. I would apply the adhesive to the eyelash unit first, then wait a bit for the liquid to start becoming tacky and sticky, then apply to the eyelid. If you apply to soon when the liquid is still runny, it just won't stick.

When applying, I start in one of the corners - I've tried starting in both the inner and outer corners and it never made a difference for me.
