Hi everyone!
This is similar to the thread about making bindis, which I read, but I have a very beautiful bindi that I've worn to death, and it's falling apart. Should I try to glue the pieces together on a new piece of backing? Is there a glue I can use without remaking it?
Any suggestions would be very appreciated!

Re: Fixing Already Made Bindis
Fri, July 24, 2009 - 10:53 AMWhat parts are falling apart?
If they are the rhinestones, I'd suggest getting new rhinestones to replace the old. Re-gluing rhinestones that have peeled off their foil backing and ones that have had prolonged exposure to skin oils/makeup never look the same. They get darker and/or duller.
If it is just metal pieces, I'd say pry them off clean them up and put them on a new backing, if you're so inclined.
Also, it may just be that that bindi has seen it's day and needs to be retired. :{
Good luck!

Re: Fixing Already Made Bindis
Sun, July 26, 2009 - 1:23 AMWell, the little findings aren't coming off, the backing has torn in two in once spot, and is almost come apart in another spot.
So I'm thinking I'll just get new backing and glue it on the new stuff and cut around it.
We'll see! -

Re: Fixing Already Made Bindis
Sun, July 26, 2009 - 8:51 AMIf the parts, themselves, are not coming off the original backing, I would take the two or three pieces (with old backing) and glue them on to a new backing. Make sure both surfaces are as clean as possible. It'll raise the bindi just slightly, but it'll be more secure than prying everything off and trying to arrange them again. Especially with rhinestones. Usually, once you pry them off, they're kinda dead unless you can get them off without damaging the foil backing.
Sounds like maybe that is what you meant anyway. ;} Good luck! -

I have to buy new backing and the proper glue, but once I fix it I'll post the results. :)
