Ladies and gentlemen :)- I have a question that I hope you all can help with- and any info is appreciated. I am thinking about getting hair extentions. I have never had them before, and will get them sewen not glued. They will be long, and my hair is very healthy but fine and thinner. I did a google search and found good stuff and some very bad stuff- balding. So does balding occur with exentions or is it just if you use and abuse your hair- which I don't do. I don't perm or use anything harsh in my hair.
Any advise on this or imput is appreciated- I have no experience in this area. Thanks.

Re: hair extentions
Fri, April 25, 2008 - 8:42 AMWhen i first looked into getting extensions I wanted to get with wefting, where they do a braid or two horizonitally across the back of your head, and then sew in the extensions. I wanted to do this because it was about $250cheaper. The stylist would not do it. She said it would be very bad for my hair and scalp. It causes balding, because with fine hair it puts on that area of the braid constantly and will rip the hair out.
I was talked into getting the hair police method of extensions and I'm really glad. This technique is amazing! They take small sections of your hair, take the hair extension with string, loop it around the small section of your hair and make a small braid and use the string to tie it and secure it. (sorry hope that makes sense I'm really bad at explain things). They do this all over your head. You can't tell its not your hair. It doesnt hurt or give you headaches. And I had extensions to my waist. My hair was not damaged at all when i took them out. I had human hair, and it last 9months. I could still use the hair (i saved it).
hairpolice.com/ Check to see if there is a person that is certified in this technique in your area.
