Hey there! Now i know there has been post of how to make your own dread locks and all. But ive only seen the ones made with small pieces of hair. I posted a link below of Rachel Brice, it seems she is wearing fake thick long dreads that dangle. How do you make those dreads so long and thick??? If there not dreads please someone tell me what they are. They look cool and I would like to try and attempt to have something like it. Help please??? Thanks!

Wed, July 22, 2009 - 5:07 AMThey're just long tassels...notice how they sparkle? You can get long sections of hair extensions and dread them...if you'll check the hair and make-up for dancers tribe, there should be someone there that can link you to how to make them...
Good luck! -

Re: Thick Dread Locks?
Thu, July 23, 2009 - 5:16 AMI think she's just wearing long trips of ribbon or fabric in her hair. There are no dreadlocks or hair in those at all.
However, if you did want to make long, thick synthetic dreads like that you could just run a quick google search for synthetic dreads. Most are made with kanekalon or some sort of artificial hair, and you can make them any length you'd like. Check etsy or ebay for custom dread falls as well if you don't want to spend the time making them yourself. Dreadlocks are just ratted, locked up fiber, in effect, and the length shouldn't be a challenge at all.

Fri, July 24, 2009 - 3:50 PMIf you wanted that kind of length and thickness from dreads I would suggest wool. You can do some great things with wool you can't with the synthetic hair and in my opinion they last way longer and look better with age. -
