I've recently been converted to the world of fake hair. I like having my hair off my neck when I dance, but I have such fine hair that once I get it up there's not a lot to play with. So I bought a couple of those little pieces that go over a bun and look all wild, and they are awesome!
This vendor got my order to me in less than a week and the color I selected on screen looked exactly like what I got in the mail. They have a lot of colors to choose from.
For the record, I twist my hair in a tight bun then layer these two pieces over it:

Then I clip one of those beaded discs over my twisted up hair in the middle and stick all the hairsticks and flowers into the whole mess.

I found something similar at Sally's and Ulta II and love wearing them - even sometimes in my *mundane* life ;-)
...and check out the dollar stores. I've found them with beads, paillettes and in different colors. -
