Why don't you take a look at Dr. Hauschka's stuff. I love their cleansers and creams (my black heads are finally gone). And I love their foundation. I have to admit that I did not try the make-up yet, I'm still using my old stuff. You'll find Dr. Hauschka at the Whole Foods Market.

Jane Iredale is very nice and vegan as well....all natural minerals, no preservatives or fillers. Only the brushes would be non-vegan since they use animal hair, though they are completely cruelty free. Also, because of the zinc and titanium, they have natural SPF. I wear it and never get burnt in the sun. They also have a body bronzer/SPF that's really cool! Comes in the crushed mineral form and is very easy to apply and doesn't rub off.
Good luck in your quest!

Urban Decay is my favorite makeup line! They have a lot of vegan products and funky colors, perfect for us dancers. You can find their products at Sephora or urbandecay.com

I would highly recommend looking at the Urban Decay website as it is very user/veg friendly and their customer service is outstanding!

Also, "Juice Beauty", is 100% cruelty free and vegan... Kinda spendy but very good skin-care and basic make-up (I use their skin-care and a 30SPF tinted sunscreen for my face... Love it!) I get it at Sephora (in-store you can play with the samples.)

If you get the right colors yes you can use the mineral makeup for almost anything. I have quite a few colors and love them. The only issue is the color RED it is not going to be vegan, since it traditionally takes ground beetles to make the color. Some use a synthetic but most do not. This goes for basic makeup as well.

I agree mineral makeups (not like the ones you get at the big stores) will tend to be the best. Especially since you can use one pot as eyeshadow, lipstick, eyeliner and nailpolish just by adding a vegan lipbalm, water or clear polish. That means less products too.

Hi Lynne- all the 'health food stores' around here carry some of my favorite stuff, like Kiss My Face and Jason and Dr. Bronners(they have all kinds of goodies now, not just soap). Do you have a coop near you? A Whole Foods? Trader Joe's (their stuff is generic but they label their vegan shampoos)? Some MAC is vegan, but not all of it: you have to call their Customer Service and they'll send you a list. I like *some* of Beauty Without Cruelty's stuff, which most department stores carry... Zuzu Luxe and Urban Decay are all vegan and I've seen them around lots of places. Does that help? Good luck, I'm slooooowly replacing my stuff, too- got some tips from the vegan salon down the street!

Morning ladies. This may have been a topic before, and if so, I apologize. I am finally running out of my old makeup and looking to replace it with some vegan alternatives. It's easy enough to find lists of vegan friendly products online. What I can't find are places to buy them at. Would I have better luck looking at a fancy department store, a health food store, or one of the big mega chains? Am a SOL and relegated to ordering online?

Thanks.
