Halloween's coming up, and my team at work has plans set in motion. For my costume I need to "fake" freckles believably. Any ideas? Anyone actually done it before?
I'm thinking eyeliner or lip liner pencil in browny-rusty colors… but I've seen that before and they look kind of fakey. If that's the best plan, I'll go with it, but I'd like to see if there are better plans first.

Re: Faking freckles
Wed, October 7, 2009 - 1:05 PMIn some of the pictures of me in my photos I made dots over my brows with a brown eye pencil (not a rusty brown either) and it matched my freckles perfectly. It was funny, because one of the dots is just one of my freckles. I wouldn't go to round either, because they are sort of different shaped and some overlap and they are different sizes. Good luck. I'm always trying to hide mine. ;-) -Freya

Wed, October 7, 2009 - 3:36 PMeyeliner not lipliner, lipliner wont stay in place, if you dot them on lightly, it will look much more believable

Re: Faking freckles
Fri, October 9, 2009 - 7:30 AMYou could try using a stipple brush with some creme shadow. I have a Ben Nye makeup kit that comes with both of these. You load the stipple brush and lightly blot it across spots on your face where freckles are normally found (usually where the sun hits). Forehead, nose, and cheeks. -

Re: Faking freckles
Mon, October 12, 2009 - 6:00 AMI would experiment with splattering a dark liquid.
For splattering I would use a toothbrush flicking the bristles with your finger allowing them to land on your face. I've also seen this method used scraping the brush over wire mesh, think- a sieve. Or maybe try a pump spray bottle ( the droplets are bigger). This would achieve the aim of a variation in size of the fake freckles.
For the liquid I would try making up a little solution of brown eyeshadow powder with water. Or brown mascara/eyeliner watered down. Or tanning spray.
You could head to the kitchen, what about trying soy sauce? Balsamic vinegar?
Start experimenting! good luck!

i think she does a nice job here, and she used a eyeliner pencil. to make it look less fake i would use a light foundation powder over the top of the dots after you draw them in.
