OK. I had a weird dream last night. My boss' wife took me aside and threaded my eyebrows ... but she didn't remove hair. She used a needle and thread to add these really cool, metallic-pink "stitches" to my brows! In my dream it didn't hurt, but obviously real life would be a different story. heh heh. ouch.
I was trying to think about how I could fake it. I don't think drawing "stitches" on would be very good. I was thinking about actual thread (or something of the kind) and glue. Has anybody done something like this? Any ideas? Photos? I'm not a very make-up savvy gal. I just really love this idea. I must do it. Or at least see somebody else do it. hee hee. :)

Re: threaded brows, but NOT what you're thinking!!
Mon, July 20, 2009 - 1:28 PMThey make these little metal rings to "fake" having a piercing… so using that concept, I'd think you could us metal to fake it. Just paint it and texture it to look like thread/yarn, etc.
The hardest part would be faking the "hole."
If you wanted to do it "for real" piercings should work…

Mon, July 20, 2009 - 1:52 PMCould you do the stitching onto slips of gauze and stick them over your brows with eyelash glue? I've never done anything like this (there were some deeply messed up girls at my high school who used to literally embroider patterns through the palms of their hands though...)

Re: threaded brows, but NOT what you're thinking!!
Tue, July 21, 2009 - 11:21 AMWhat about snipping your little thread stitches and gluing them in place with DUO? One at a time and carefully so you dont get too much glue or glue where you dont want it. Probably applying them with tweezers? I would go with nylon or polyester thread, no cotton.
Man... thats giving me ideas!! -

Tue, July 21, 2009 - 2:10 PMI wonder if the Eye Kandy glue would hold thread, yarn, etc. At least we know that stuff is safe for eyes and washes off pretty well… and has staying power.

Wed, July 22, 2009 - 8:09 AMI would use eyelash glue, and apply little pieces of thred like false eyelashes. What kind of stitch are you envisioning? A whip stitch /////? or a basteing stitch _ _ _ _? this is a very interesting concept! -

Re: threaded brows, but NOT what you're thinking!!
Wed, July 22, 2009 - 1:27 PMBig darning needles and thick black cotton. As far as self-harm goes, it was very decorative. I was a teenager in the 80s and we hadn't heard of cutting yet.
Sorry - it sounds like I am being really callous. They were very unhappy girls and no one knew how to help.
