Well, it can, but an oil will work much better...you won't have to scrub and pull...it'll just loosen it from the hair. I'd suggest a bottle of Neutrogena Light Sesame Oil. It's great during the winter months, anyhow. Believe me, it won't go to waste.

Yes, oil will get anything waxy out. If you don't have body oil, you can even use vegetable or olive oil from your kitchen pantry.

A good body oil should loosen the wax...it's what's recommended to use to get off excess wax when doing any type of body waxing...alot of wax kits will have a little bottle of oil in with it.

Dish soap helps get the beeswax out too. I also take a washcloth and get it hot and wring well then let it sit onmy eyebrows for a bit, helps soften it.

Gracias for the help and advice so far.
I blocked out my eyebrows last year, I was Medusa, with a glue stick. It worked really well and all it took to take it off was some vaseline and soap and water. I just have a cheapy Staples glue stick I use. I also use it to stick the Voodoo Mica stuff I got from Mardi Love under my eyes and on my brow bone. I must add though, I don't have sensitive skin at ALL, so if you have touchy skin it may not work as well as it does for me.

Wash out the beeswax in the shower. It takes a bit of work because beeswax is stickier than parafin, but it's the hot water that really helps.

Here is another way to cover your eyebrows that may not be so painful to get off. (Liquid Band-aid is pretty much super glue)

Ah cool. I've been trying to find a way to block out eye brows without having to spend lots of money (cos I'm too poor at the moment) I heard that you can use soap as well, but I havent tryed it.
How does one remove said beeswax from eyebrows when finished?

You can use liquid bandaid in a spray bottle as a sealer. To smoosh down one's eyebrows, roll beeswax in your hands until it is warm and smoosh in!

I third the Ben Nye or Kryolan, and I would recoment the aquacolor because grease paint is more likely to smudge. Also I'd surgest using a seeling power or spray, altho a spray can some times leave a wee bit of a sheen on the face (or where ever sprayed) but it is suposse to be sweat proof and it would difanintly help with the staying power :)

good luck! cant wait to see the photos. I'd really like to try it out too even if just to see what it looks like.

Hi all,
I'm looking for some help and recommendations from all of you loverly makeup experts.
My plan is to be a Mexican Day of the Dead Girl and I was totally inspired by artist Sylvia Ji's paintings. I want to look just like the chicks in the paintings and am not quite sure what to use to paint my face.
Here are a few pix for reference -

I'm thinking Kryolan's aquacolors would probably work, but I haven't actually used them before, so my guess is just based on things I've heard about different products. I don't want to use cheapy halloween makeup because I want to make sure I look KILLER and I want it to last all day, at least!!!

Any thoughts??
