i use mine over shadow's and i haven't pulled at my eye yet...it just kind of glides on. i have also used it under shadow's and it hasn't pulled anymore than other non liquid liner type things do ...i think for me it's a bit less because the tip is large and blunt. i like a soft look.

but....i'm not a heavy applicator...i'm not putting down lots of product at a time (maybe that's why it doesn't pull?) ...i just like it to highlight and add some shimmer and color.

Thank you for your imput. I hadn't heard about the MAC Shadestick until I started watching panacea81 makeup tutorials on youtube. She uses the Shadestick a lot as a base for her eye makeup. And yes, she does tend to pull the skin around her eyes when she applies it sometimes. That scares me :)

There are mixed feelings concerning the Shadestick. Some love it and some, just don't care for it.

I for one, being in my fifties, I prefer to use the paint pots or paints as a base. I have found that using the paints/paint pots pulls on my eyelids much less than the shadestick. Using the shadestick, one tends to hold the eyelid to the side in order to get an even coverage; with the paints/paint pots you can use a concealer brush, less pull. Of course, this is a personal preference; I do not wish to add pre-mature wrinkles on my already wrinkled eyes, if you know what I mean. LOL

Of course, these are my feelings, being a MAC addict and all =D
