I perform in a show daily in which I have to sport an "oh-so-fashionable" blonde wig.
I happen to have naturally dark, almost black hair, and dark brown eyebrows that are often categorized as "full shaped."
needless to say...it doesn't look very good.
I only get away with it since I have fair a fair asian/caucasian skin tone.
thankfully the wig has long bangs that cover the eyebrows to an extent, but you can still see them since they are fuller shaped.
any tips on lightening them with MAKEUP. (i'm not bleaching them, or thinning them out to much, so those are out the window.)
I know there's a method you can use with school glue and MagiCake colors or acrylic paint for a cartoony effect...but since this needs to be natural looking, i wanted to avoid it.
and i know you can "block out" eyebrows with concealer. but I don't want to appear to have no eyebrows..i just want them to be more matching with the golden blonde wig.
thanks!

Re: eyebrow coloring suggestions?
Fri, July 10, 2009 - 6:11 AMThere are a few companies that make a, for lack of a better term, eyebrow mascara that would probably help. I know that Sephora carries one by Anastasia and Bourjois used to make a really good one.

Fri, July 10, 2009 - 6:27 AMIf you want to go the whole nine, block out your eyebrows with brow wax & then apply fake blonde ones with spirit gum -- all of which you can find at the better-end theatrical supply houses. Since you're in LA, I would recommend just going to the Ben Nye store there in town.

Re: eyebrow coloring suggestions?
Fri, July 10, 2009 - 10:25 AMThe simplest method I have ever heard of/used is to brush some gold-toned eyeshadow into your eyebrows. A little bit of sparkle in the shadow helps to diffuse the light and make them seem lighter.
It works surprisingly well for being so simple; you may want to fix them with a short burst of fixier spray/hair spray or clear mascara when you get them how you like them.
