Has anyone else had this problem? When I first got a bottle of Pure & Basic's Glitter-Up! lotion (the lighter cream color), I thought I had my body glitter needs solved. I assumed the lotion would dry and disappear, leaving only the shimmer of micro-glitter . But no. When the lotion dries on my skin, it turns blue! So my belly, chest, and arms look bruised, or dirty, or some sort of awful. Is it just my skin, or am I doing something wrong?

Mon, September 28, 2009 - 10:07 PMWhy not just put glitter in a lotion you like? Seems to work well for my dance partners. -

I wonder if your lotion's oil (or other ingredients) is reacting with the color of the glitter? If they somehow used a cheaper type of glitter that is essentially painted different colors, that might come off onto your skin, I would think. But I don't know for sure. I know some/most art glitter colors are the actual plastics themselves, rather than being colored, which shouldn't cause this problem.
I dunno. Good luck on your glitterification quest!

Re: Glitter lotion
Mon, September 28, 2009 - 11:21 PMOh my goodness! I know of the -best- glitter lotion EVER. It's from the Body Shop, it comes in either two scents, Coconut or Satsuma. Satsuma is a more orange-y/citrus scent and the Coconut explains itself. It's called Shimmer Lotion and it will literally leave you totally glittery, smelling good and has no nasty residue! If you go into any Body Shop you can get a free sample of it, just ask for one and then you can try it out! Or you can just order it online. It's the stuff I use when I need to look hot and sexy, I use it when I go to the club all the time, and the best part is that it doesn't sweat off! -

Tue, September 29, 2009 - 6:15 AMWow, that's odd...that one has always been my fave and I never noticed a discolouration...could possibly be a reaction with your body chemistry? *shrugs*
Either way, if it's not working for you, definitely go for something else...I'm thinking I'd love to try the Satsuma now, myself...sounds yummy! :-)
