Cornstarch might work better than flour. I know it works well for 'gray-ing' hair.

just as an update, i bought some creme makeup that lasted through dancing/sweating, but i definitely like THE LOOK of white eyeshadow better. the cream makeup got a little sticky and shiny towards the end, so next time (i have a whoel bit in mind as b ride of frankenstein =p) i'll invest in a HUGE thingie of just white eyeshadow =p and some kind of primer

i've had a lot of success (not on purpose!) putting on a really thick layer of liquid facial foundation. Pour it in the palm of your hand, rub your hands back and forth kind of like you're washing them, pat your hands together a few times gentley. With your fingertips at your top hairline, pat your face all around using your entire inner hand, using the natural bulge of the palm to work it into the eye-sockets. Then blend with fingertips. apparently, that's how clowns do it (hmmmm....) 8-)

i wouldnt suggest flour. I once saw a human statue who used flour. Her makeup looked bad at the start, and by the end she looked lumpy... and she wasnt even moving.. I always suggest Ben Nye as opposed to halloween makeup, it stays on through everything. I mean EVERYTHING. Just remember to set it really really well. (think baby powder)

i'm wondering if i just put a primer on or some sort, if i could just use something powdery like flour?
it's so cheap to get tons and i need to do my face, tummy and back
maybe my hands too
and feet in case they poke out!

oops - sorry - didn't see the *rigors of dance* part. I don't know how the cold cream mixture would hold up.

oooo, Elle! pop over to the DIY tribe...Erika posted a link to a video from threadbanger.com for eco-friendly Halloween makeup...believe you could use cold cream mixed with corn starch and a bit of water - use a bit of black food coloring to get gray

any suggestions?
does regular halloween makeup hold up to the rigors of dance?
