Lots of threads on actual cream eyeshadows... which ones... better than pressed or loose... etc etc search for gold and red creams' cause they are 'better' than pressed or loose yadda yadda...

has there ever been a thread/tutorial on the actual process of blending cream eyeshadows? I'm not super familar with them I picked up a dark charcoal or black from the HIP line and have had minimal results so as much as I know people love them... I've got to be totally missing something!

Can you only blend w/ other creams?
Darker first or lighter?
Start at the crease and work down vs start at the lashline and work up?
Blend w/ a slightly damp brush vs dry vs actual wet
Should you wait before blending vs blending right away?

That's all I got... I know a *few* of those questions are buried in some make up threads... but seriosly I'm not going to read every single where can I find red pr gold cream eyeshadow for 50 posts to find one answer.... (am I wrong yet??!!?!)

*-*

thanks ladies!

My answer is yes! Usually I do lighter first, because I can put it all over, and then put on a smaller amount of the darker shade. It is difficult to blend a cream with a powder, but not impossible. Just not easy to move it around once it is on because the powder wants to absorb the moisture from the cream.

Be sure to have plenty of brushes handy, or cotton swabs or your blending tool of choice. Also keep a wipe cloth and some makeup removed and/or brush cleaner handy. A dirty brush will ruin your look quicker than anything else.

      OMG she was funny.

Interesting review though, thanks for posting... I'll have to dig around more on youtube when I get the chance obviously if I start into the creams more. I tend to stay with the pressed poweders.. not sure why I get so mad when they break!

You can only blend creams (easily) with creams when it is still wet. If you want to blend cream with powder, if you apply the powder with a wet brush, it makes it WAY easier because the powder isn't setting the creme. I start dark and then go to light. I start at the lash line and go up, doing the highlight under the browbone last. :D
