Hi Everyone!
I have really enjoyed the community of DIYers in this tribe, and getting feedback and ideas from ya'll helped me develop the confidence to jump into the open market! I decided to start selling some costuming creations in an etsy.com store: ayperibellydancer.etsy.com. Please check it out and let me know what you think! :)
Does anyone else have an etsy.com store? If you have any advice for me, please let me know!
Thanks!

Guys be careful. I checked out Ayperi's site. Told her I was interested in her tribal skirt $100 and one of her flower/feather head pieces. The next thing I know she raised the skirt up to $175 :(. Shame on her, bait and switch, Not doing business with her. I have done business with other Etsy ladies who have been great:
SweetXcessories.etsy.com - lovely hair accessories, much more reasonable priced. Have to get pictures and post.
webs55.etsy.com - workmanship gorgeous, very good to work with too :) Bought halter top and skirt.
    ErikasChiquis- corset belt
roadwarriortribal- Found her wonderful to work with. Just ordered from her so haven't received bra and little skirt yet.

Playing devil's advocate here... When you're first starting out, it's hard to determine what your price(s) should be. What will sell (ie, what the market will bear) vs. what will compensate you enough to for your time/materials/etc. She very well could have researched further or gotten feedback or just crunched the numbers better & figured out that she needed to increase her inital prices. Just letting you know how it can be from the vendor side of things sometimes...

Please see the etsy.com reply to your message to me. I hope that I can clear this up. I am so sorry about the way that my shop came across.

I am so sorry about the price increase on the skirt. I understand your frustration, and I want you to know that I'm sorry. If you don't mind hearing what happened on my side, I'd appreciate the chance to explain.

I made that skirt a long time ago. It was actually one of my very first sewing projects, and it took me FOREVER to finish. I actually LOVE the skirt because it represents the beginning of my sewing and costuming career, but I just never wear it, and I really need to reduce the size of my costume closet. I was not entirely sure about how much to list the skirt for, because this is my very first experience with selling my wares online. I ended up listing it for $100 initially. After reading your email, I thought seriously about selling the skirt, and I realized that I didn't want to part with it for less than $175. I then changed the price for the skirt, foolishly, without thinking about how my action would be percieved by you.

I would like to offer the skirt to you for $100 with the fascinator included in that price as an apology for my unintentional rude behavior. It was completely accidental, and I am very embarrassed and sorry.

Please accept my apology. I will create a custom order listing for you that you can purchase if you're still interested.

There's not really much else to say, so it's seriously refreshing to come across a group of ladies that are wiling to be civil about the matter! I hardly find a place on the web were everyone can be mature and open about situations and not have to be a most royal b!tch! I think I'm going to like it here. :]
