I sell a brand of makeup that I won't mention here, but if you want a smooth, natural coverage of base use a good quality moisturizer a liquid foundation and a light powder. The moisurizer will make the foundation look like your natural skin, the powder will set the foundation and you will get a super coverage that will last. Plus, those products are multitaskers. You can ALWAYS use powder and foundation.

My 2 cents

I looked it up on youtube, and it does seem to work really well. I haven't used a face primer before, I just use mosteriser (o im so sorry about my spelling!) and the put on my makeup, n after a while it does fade.
My queston is, is it ok to use with liquid foundation? All the reviews I looked at seemed to be using mineral make up and power so I just wanted to check before I go and try to find it...
any ideas?
thanks

Yep.
I've tried it, it seems to give my skin a matte finish and smooth it out a lot. It does sound strange, but it works, and it's so much cheaper!

this may sound as crazy to you as it did to me at first but Monistat's chafing gel can be used as a primer under make up. there are about a million people on youtube doing reviews on it. apparently it contains the same ingredients as smashbox (and other) high end and expensive primers.

i gave it a try and sure enough, it worked perfectly. made my skin feel like silk and provided a smooth canvas for my foundation. i gave me that airbrush look we all try to achieve! do a search on youtube to get some other info if you like. good stuff, i tell ya.

I think MAC does make a primer. Also Laura Mercier does too. Tried it once and actually liked it. For me the Benefit primer really clogged my pores.

just about everybody has come out with a face primer in the past couple of years...i even saw one in the Revlon section.
Smashbox's photo finish primer is one of the most popular...they also make special formulas for evening out skintone and whatnot.
they also make a cool eye/lip primer duo in a double-ended applicator.
Lorac makes a face primer (Lorac is great for sensitive skin)...and Studio Gear also makes both a face primer and lip primer...i dont know as much about them though.
Philosophy, BeneFit, NARS...all have face primers...if i remember correctly, i think NARS and Philosophy are the only primers with an SPF.
MAC makes both a lip and eye primer, but not a face primer to my knowledge.

the only one i have ever tried is Smashbox. it did help even out the surface of my skin (i have large pores), and i loved the way it made my skin feel though (most primers are a silicone base so you get a very silky feel) it just ended up giving me tiny whiteheads.
i have been meaning to try some of the other brands...

if there is a brand of makeup you already use or like, see if they make a primer. or you could just give the Smashbox a try since it's the most popular....they make small tubes that you can try without buying a full size.
