Organic Makeup Sources Needed

topic posted Wed, May 14, 2008 - 8:53 AM by  Raina
Hi! As a cancer survivor, I don't take my health for granted. I'm a professional Belly Dancer in S. Florida and want safe makeup that stays on. Can any of you recommend organic, natural makeup for dancers? Is there such a thing as waterproof organic makeup? Any leads would be greatly appreciated....

Blessings -

    Hi!

I've heard that Jane Iredale products are good. Unfortunately, I'm looking for a store/salon to purchase her products. Check out her web site janeiredale.com/index.html . There is a section on the aite where you can search for where her products are sold.

I'm curious to hear other lines of organic/natural make up products dancers use.

I work with Jane Iredale and it's really great. If you're in the Seattle/Bellevue area, you can buy it at Paule Attar Salon and Spa. Ask for me, I can help you find the right color! (I'm an Aesthetician there)

I haven't used it yet, but want to. Physician's Formula has come out with a new organic line of cosmetics. They're paraben-free and certified organic. I like a lot of their other products and plan to give these a try. Might check them out, or maybe someone else has tried them.

i haven't used the organics yet (can't afford to toss my old stuff ^_^) but i LOVE their bronzing veil and finishing veils. i sometimes have a hard time getting it to come out, while another girl i know had it put out too much. (the kind where the powder comes threw the brush)
but, when i wear it, no one ever says i did a good job with my makeup, they tell me how great my skin is. my aunts boyfriend actually stared at my skin all threw dinner once when i was wearing it. (i didn't notice. he told her to say he hoped i didn't think he was creepy. hah! ^_^)
anyway, they make great stuff. there isn't an organic version of this, but i love their eye RX (for dark under eye circles. pat it on, then cover with the finishing veil and it disappears!)

Shaklee has some cosmetics that are 'friendlier' than most. Not sure how organic they are but if the quality is like their enviromentaly happy house cleaners then it is a place to check out! The Navel Academy - I love it!! Great name!
Blessings to you and your cancer conquering life energy!

Decided to try the Physician's Formula Organic stuff, and so far, so good! I really love it. At least for my skin, it doesn't crease and goes on pretty well. I also tried the Eye Rx - it's not organic but I have really dark eye circles, but this product was AMAZING! BUt be careful - a very little goes a loooong way. When I first tried it, I used an amount I *thought* I would need, but it spreads out so much that the amount I used ended up being too much,
