So while I'm winning the War of the Fake Lashes, I'm discovering that I have some glue still stuck on my lids! It's annoying. HALP!!

Re: Getting glue off eyelids
Mon, October 5, 2009 - 3:26 PMOLIVE OIL. A little olive oil on a cotton pad will take it right off -- without losing any of your natural lashes or irritating your skin. It's an awesome everyday eye makeup remover, too!

Re: Getting glue off eyelids
Mon, October 5, 2009 - 9:40 PMYou may already do this, but to prevent future sticky issues, put down a good thick line of liquid liner where you intend to place the lashes. This gives it something to stick to other than your lids. Make sure it is dry before you glue, obviously. Other than that, I tend to let glue wear off if it won't come off with my oil wash and warm water, especially if it is down betwixt my lashes where it might pull something out if I tugged. -

it doesnt *completely* prevent leftover stickies, but it helps a lot.
sometimes you just end up sticky afterward *shrug* :P
ive also used a good pointy set of tweezers to CAREFULLY pull out the blobs stuck in my eyelashes.

Fri, November 13, 2009 - 9:16 AMI second the Olive Oil - other removers irritate my eyes. It's great for spirit gum and long wear lipstick too (of course, I sort of like waking up with my lipstick still on in the morning too) ;-)

Tue, November 24, 2009 - 9:01 AMOlive oil for sure or if you want something a little lighter, try jojoba oil (which is also awesome for your hair! Makes it super shiny and healthy.) -

Stupid Olive Oil question...
Wed, November 25, 2009 - 6:46 AM
I've been thinking about using olive oil for not only makeup removal, but for over-all body moisturizing. I recently started using grapeseed but I want to switch to olive. My question is...which type? I always use Extra Virgin (first press) for cooking. Does it matter which type you use for skin? -

Wed, November 25, 2009 - 11:52 AMTry and get the expeller pressed, that way you know it hasn't been heated and possibly damaged. Other then that I doubt it matters. -

Re: Stupid Olive Oil question...
Thu, November 26, 2009 - 8:53 PMI dont know about olive oil, Ive always used a purified Vitamine E oil- To take off make up, moisturizing after washing my face, and in my hair after shampooing- I have very long hair, long enogh to sit on. Ive been using the Eoil for years on my face and have very few lines for my trouble. I find, tho, that any vegetable oil will go rancid after some time, so double check freshness by a sniff test. If it smells off, it is, and dont use it at all, even in your hair. After all, who wants stinky hair. -

Fri, November 27, 2009 - 9:32 AMLush's Babyface cleanser, it's oily so it might work jus as good as any oil. But this is a cleanser by purpose.
