Rachel Brice looks like she has two fake hair ponytails that she uses sometimes... look at the youtube vid to see what I mean. Any idea where I could get some cheap ones? Just hair, nothing else?

Rachel's hair is actually quite long.....you can find all sorts of "fake" hair at beauty supply stores....places that sell hair for extensions etc.

What a great clip. I love that: "look at my belly - get out of the way, hair!"

Actually Rachel's hair is just past her shoulderblades from what I saw at her workshop last month. I believe she either braided those in to her real hair or attached them to little buns at the base of her neck.

I love fake hair! I have such thin, fine locks that without the fake hair I would be lost...

I thought I'd recalled her saying they're some kind of tassel, but they DO look like hair... Go to Sally's Beauty Supply or any other Beauty supply place that doesn't require a Cosmetology license to shop at. There are usually great finds at stores specializing in Black hair care and Ethnic hair needs.
You can even make your own 'Rachel" style hairpiece/headress by braiding a few paks worth of 'hair', and sewing it into the shape you want. Complete with most of the jewelry and dangly bits, so all you have to is pin it on before performance. Good luck!

I have an amazing supply of fake hair -- and have great luck finding inexpensive fake hair that looks great. I just got a 55" wide weft of hair extension hair 20" long that I picked up on eBay for $12.99 in the mail yesterday and it's BEAUTIFUL. I can do a LOT of things with it.

Yeah....definitely try either Sallys or Ebay. Then you can braid it....leave it kinda loose and flowy or even make dreads with it. Theres quite a bit you can do with loose hair. i have a bundle of it right now that I am just trying to find the time to do something with it!!

    Great video by the way

I have some lovely fake hair I want to make into fake ponytails, but I wanted to ask- how does one attach it to something to attach it to my hair (if you understand what I mean!)

I have short hair, and had planned on dividing it into four, BUT my ponytail is very small. I have made some 'falls' that are tied onto gold ribbon which I can just tie around my little ponytail, but they are yarn and the like, because I can't work out how to put the hair onto it, because my ponytail is so small.

Not sure at all I'm making any sense- but I hope someone will understand enough to help! I'd also like some advice on how to make a fake bun, or at least find out what others use to cover the place that their fake hair joins their own ponytails.

Thought I'd post it here, since it was kinda related to the thread :-)

I found vintage Kuchi hair tassels on Ebay that look a lot like her hair falls. They are made of black string and have beads embroidered onto them & they resemble real hair. Here is the pic: i81.photobucket.com/albums/j...6_011.jpg

They are seriously hard to find so you are probably better off trying to make your own out of real hair or yarn. I can also give you the link to the seller I bought them from, he has a few up for auction right now and they normally don't run more than $40.

Rache uses both tassels and hair extentions, but not normaly together i dont think. sometimes she will have them like this... api.ning.com/files/2BaNq...helBrice.jpg or like this... i179.photobucket.com/albums/...22bj.jpg im still looking for some tassels like that, and im not sure how to attach them but i figure when i get em il sus sumething out.

as for fake hair... www.doctoredlocks.com/store/k...mbo.html il told that this <--- is good to use for making fake dreads and other such things. They have them in lots of diffrant colors too :)

      Hope that helps!

Amanda, I have some long cowrie falls that I've attached to my flowers which are on metal barrettes....the falls have a loop on top and I just put those around the barrette. It's just an idea if you wear flowers too like the 1st pic link you had there of Miz Brice you could try that. Gives your head more room to attach lots of other goodies.

As for tassels I just got some and I'm still figuring out wear to put those.....I may pin those onto my headband.....my instructor does this....looks really cool.

        Also ikickshins.net/ has fake hair.

I have a big bag o' shells too and decided to just buy some, because though I had great intentions, I just didn't have the patience to make them. Got some from Crystalkini. Reasonably priced and they look great!

              tribes.tribe.net/tribaltresses

Please check out my beautiful hair falls called Tribal Tresses. On the Tribal tresses poster I ma wearing approximately 6 pieces. I usually perform in 2-4 pieces. They can be made more glamourous by adding flowers, tassels, hair sticks or feathers.

Please feel free to PM me. I will gladly make you some.

              Shimmies,
              Luz
