I am on the hunt for a decent foundation that i can wear when dancing, and when i go to Jordan in October.
My cheeks tend to redden very easily, so i don't feel comfortable without my foundation.
I'm not too keen on the mineral powder ones as if you have any cream or S.P.F on your face it tends to sink in, but if you know of any good liquid/cream ones that can stand up to abit of heat and humidity, i'd be very grateful if you could let me know

Re: Can anyone recommend a good liquid/cream foundation for hot and sweaty situations...i.e dancing, and hols abroad
Wed, May 13, 2009 - 6:16 AMI have been having very good luck with MAC Studio (I think that's the name of it) It comes in a compact and claims to be cream to powder. I have dry/sensitive/rosacea skin and it is wonderful. I have been walking 2 miles at lunchtime in the 90 degree, 100% humidity and *so far* it has stayed on.
If you're not plagued by dry skin, I believe they have one for oily/combo skin. I have learned to love their foundation primer as well.
Good luck!
And have a great time traveling!! -

Re: Can anyone recommend a good liquid/cream foundation for hot and sweaty situations...i.e dancing, and hols abroad
Wed, May 13, 2009 - 8:16 AMMy cheapie suggestion I believe is by CoverGirl or Maybelliene. I can't think of the exact name of it (helpful, huh??) but on the package, it states lasts through workouts, sweat, swimming, etc. It's worked for me. It requires a vigorous shaking before applying because of seperation. I'd love to try these others that have been suggested, but, I'm living the high life cause I finally got UD Primer Sin! Till then, if you're on a tight budget, the drugstore brand really does stay through sweating (spinning class...just to really give it a test). You'll still sweat, but, blotting doesn't take the foundation off.
Speaking of sweat...does Studio Fix *prevent* sweat? -

Re: Can anyone recommend a good liquid/cream foundation for hot and sweaty situations...i.e dancing, and hols abroad
Wed, May 13, 2009 - 9:03 AMNothing's gonna prevent sweat -- and you might not wanna try, cause that could make you pass out! Literally. Eeek...
Your best bet against sweat for your face/makeup is to use a primer. Does the exact same thing for your face that UDPP does for your eyes (creates a barrier between makeup & skin oils/moisture, creates a flawless canvas & increases staying power of makeup).

Re: Can anyone recommend a good liquid/cream foundation for hot and sweaty situations...i.e dancing, and hols abroad
Thu, June 4, 2009 - 2:50 AMI'm also a MAC addict! I use the primer and the foundation that comes in a bottle, not too sure what it's called though. I also invested in the powder to finish off the look and I have danced both under show lights and the hot Durban sun, anyone who's been here will know that with the sun and the high humudity factor it is impossible not to sweat. I had sweat dripping off my nose and into my eyes when we danced at an outside function about a month and a half ago and when I looked in the mirror afterwards my make-up was still perfect.
The nice thing about MAC is that you don't have to spend a fortune, and kill braincells with thinking, finding the perfect shade for your skin that won't wash you out when performing and looks natural for all other use too. The assistants will advise you and test it on you in-store, they are super helpful!
Have a fabulous time on your travels!

Re: Can anyone recommend a good liquid/cream foundation for hot and sweaty situations...i.e dancing, and hols abroad
Wed, September 30, 2009 - 5:19 PMI agree. I am very fair, but turn very very red when warm (or embarrased!). I swear by MAC foundation. I use both the liquid and the powder/liquid combination. I know it is expensive, but it's worth it! Also, I have found that instead of applying more powder throughout the day, i just use a blotter sheet. That gets rid of the shine without piling on powder...
Happy Trails!

Sun, May 24, 2009 - 9:55 AMI also use Lorac as my performance foundation, for my sensitive, prone to breaking out, need some serious coverage oily skin. I used their basic oil free (being discontinued but you can buy it half price from the Lorac site), I have not tried their new formulas.

Re: Can anyone recommend a good liquid/cream foundation for hot and sweaty situations...i.e dancing, and hols abroad
Thu, May 14, 2009 - 8:24 AMI wear the clinique superfit foundation - it's specifically designed for women that want to look good while exercising lol. I only ever wear foundation when I'm on show and I explained that I'd be dancing and getting hot and it was the one they recommended. I haven't had any issue with it so far although I find the colouring a little too yellow (I'm a typical english rose - very pale with the smallest hint of pink lol) -

Tue, June 2, 2009 - 7:58 PMAnother Clinique Superfit fan here! I've been wearing it for several years now, and no matter what else I try I always go back. It makes it through our Atlanta summers with 95 degree temps and 100% humidity without budging!

Mon, June 1, 2009 - 2:43 PMI just tried Maybelline's Dream Matte Mousse and Dream Matte Pressed Powder in an [indoor] performance to combat my ruddiness and sheen and LOVED it! It stayed for hours and hours and looked smooth and very matte.

Re: Can anyone recommend a good liquid/cream foundation for hot and sweaty situations...i.e dancing, and hols abroad
Tue, June 2, 2009 - 2:17 AMI highly recommend Ben Nye's cream foundations.
They are designed for performers and really stand up to sweating, hot lights, humidity, etc. They are very opaque, so they cover redness very well. I have the problem with redness - I have rosacea. It covers everything flawlessly. Plus, Ben Nye has a huge range of colors. My skin tone changes a lot with the seasons, and any time I need a new color I look no further than Ben Nye.
I also recommend their final seal spray. It really makes the foundation stay put! I change the bottle, though, the nozzle it comes with doesn't distribute very evenly, so find a good mister. -

Re: Can anyone recommend a good liquid/cream foundation for hot and sweaty situations...i.e dancing, and hols abroad
Wed, September 30, 2009 - 8:02 PMBen Nye looks awesome, and I totally wanna try some out -- but how do you know what shade is yours before you order it? Do they send out samples or anything? I don't know if we have any theatre makeup shops where I live, so if I can't do a test run, I certainly don't want to drop money on something that doesn't match. -

Re: Can anyone recommend a good liquid/cream foundation for hot and sweaty situations...i.e dancing, and hols abroad
Tue, June 2, 2009 - 12:49 PMI would recommend DiorSkin Forever Extreme Wear Flawless Makeup (non-transfer & waterproof) . Once applied and settled, it feels and looks like your skin---only flawless, and it lasts! I love it. To get this natural flawless look, foundation is best applied with a foundation brush, then set with a light application of powder. Dior's loose powder works well. If you are going to be on stage and like a little sparkle, try Dior Kiss Luscious Lip-Plumping Gloss in Fizzy lemonaide. It does'nt have any real color to it, but it adds a sparkle that's really beautiful for the stage. You can apply a little over a lipstick or just over your favorite lip liner. PS. It does'nt do any plumping by the way, I am not sure why they call it that.
