Hair Help?

Okay all you Hair & Makeup Goddesses out there! Here's my hair, how do I make it dance-pretty?

The front layers are long enough to pull back into a very stubby ponytail (only about 2-3 inches long) and I was thinking about putting in some falls but I don't know how to attach them! Also, what about hair flowers? How do I get those in short hair?

Instead of a pony tail, I would use bobby pins to clip it back. You could also use bobby pins to clip the flowers in. Is it long enough in back for a pony tail? If not, you might look in to various braiding styles to find one that works, then attach flowers and head decoration from there.

my friend has a very similar hair cut. you could do a head band that goes al; the way around you head, and attach what ever you want (flowers, cowrie falls, etc) to that. the band around the back of your head doesn't have to show. use something with nap on the underside of the band, so it grips your hair

You could attach a long track of hair (called a weft) to your wee ponytail -- you wind it around & around & around & around the stub. Then when you get to the end of the track, take the last 1/2-inch or so of hair and wind THAT around the ponytail holder - which will disguise where the track seam meets your hair/ponytail holder.

It gives you a big, poufy, fabulous ponytail that has lots of drama & flair. Add flowers, cowries, hair sticks (ahem!), and other items at will.

i have a similar cut, only I spike mine in the back with the front long enough to make the 'wee' pnoy tails. Instead of making pony tails though I do twisted rows about 3-4 inches long from front to back so it looks racked back. The downside is that you lose a lot of that length, but the upside is you gain a lot in stability with the rows for pinning and the like. I have two sets of things I put in my hair.... well two and a half. One are the cowrie shells.... and I have a large set of yarn falls, with some synthetic hair that goes in. Mine are all on regular sized elastics.

So I do my twisty things. Make a few extra pony's just below where the twisties stop. Flip head upsdie down....
Then I grab a few on the left and throw the elastic around them all. at that point I take the little claw clips and clip the hell out of it, usually three of them one middle and one on each side, it gives a little height on the yarn for that pig tail look. At this point I usually flip my head back over and check the effect to make sure the hair is right, not to high or low or not to off kilter. Flip head... Repeat on other side. Flip head back over and see what you got. =)

The pictures from Hipnotique in my profile incorporated a fake bun and synthetic hair. I did the same twist thing and threw the bun on there with elastics and pins. Then I simply put the elastics for the synthetic hair and yarn falls over the bun like you normal put stuff over a bun. Then I shoved it full of quills and random dangly things. The effect was cool... even it it did eff up my sword since I didn't do a better job checking location of hair. =) yeah one of those dumb moments in life really. Oh well.

      Good luck!

There are lots of options, wigs and 3/4 wigs can add a lot of length and bulk if that is what you are going for. There is also always things like turbans/crowns and half turbans. Do the back of your head in pin curls to anchor in decor like flowers and barrettes to cover the back, then leave the bangs long in the front. Sweep the front across and up into a headband with a 3/4 wig and make spiky bun buns out of the wig, or leave it down. Go into a wig store and see what they can suggest. Try on everything in your color or not and just see what it looks like. Exploring lots and lots of options will help you come up with ideas. If you can, take a friend with a camera and get some snap shots of what everything looks like.

I have a similar cut and what I was going to do (havent gotten that far yet) is go to a beauty supply (sallys etc.) and buy the real hair that they have since you can style it any way you want AND you can get a pro to dye it for a better match then buy little clips, pull top layer of hair up clip to keep out of the way then pull rest of hair into ponytail or pin clip hair into place let rest of hair down and you have long gorgous hair that you get to take out. Also the Jessica Simpson hair would probably work too, not sure what its called....
